v. The browser
Lastly, another thing you’ll want to be very familiar with is the Browser. It’s usually already loaded on the left side of FL Studio when you load the program or can be loaded by clicking its button in the tool bar. The Browser is generally a way to shortcut to the sounds, presets, projects, etc. Most of these things can simply be dragged into their corresponding window to load them. For example, a sample can be dragged from it’s location in the browser directly into the step sequencer to load the sound. With this in mind, it’s a good idea to shortcut to the folders containing your collection of commonly used sounds. This is particularly helpful for easily accessing your favorite drum kits and recordings. To create a shortcut to a folder in the browser, simply go to Options > File Settings, then click on of the folders and browse to select the folder containing your sounds and click OK. So that you can find this folder, you should give the shortcut a distinct name. Another helpful tip, especially after you’ve collected several sounds is to use the Search feature using Alt + F shortcut on your keyboard.
